ThamesMUN Online Statement

With the conference having been held online last year due to the gravity of the ongoing pandemic and shifting UK Government guidelines, the ThamesMUN 2022 Secretariat had endeavoured to bring the in-person Model United Nations experience that was intended for delegates, this year. However, after careful deliberation regarding the continuing health and safety concerns of all those involved, and the volatility of current circumstances, a decision has once again been made to conduct ThamesMUN 2022 online on the 5th of March.

While it is natural that this news will bring forward mixed reactions, the whole of the ThamesMUN 2022 secretariat is more eager than ever to deliver a truly accessible, premier conference. There remains the same confidence that ThamesMUN 2022 will prove to maintain the high standards set by the King’s College London United Nations Association and the remarkable success of the debut ThamesMUN conference guided by the preceding secretariat. The ThamesMUN 2022 Secretariat has laid provisions for an online conference and will be releasing further details regarding logistics and online platforms shortly. The conference will remain, as always, completely free to those who take part. Plans are underway to secure the necessary resources to make an online conference possible.

The ThamesMUN 2022 Secretariat aims to continue to realise the core values of the initiative, augmenting on the impact of its debut year, and encourages all potential participants to join the journey.
