The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is tasked to help the world meet the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly assisting governments to implement environmentally sound policies, establishing international environmental conventions as well as promoting environmental science to the wider public. The provision of technical guidances as well as conventionals are often effective measures in providing the international community with a unilateral framework on combating environmental issues.
